Online music lessons, one-to-one

Kara Music Academy teaches live online lessons, one-to-one, for students anywhere in Indonesia. Every instrument we teach can be taught online, including harp. Lessons are 30 minutes, once a week, with a teacher matched to the student.

Learn with Kara from anywhere

If there is no Kara studio near you, or a weekly trip across the city does not fit your routine, online lessons bring the same one-to-one teaching to your home. The student plays, the teacher listens and corrects in real time, and you receive the same written confirmation of teacher and schedule as a studio student.

How online lessons work

  • Live, not recorded. Your child has a real teacher, on a fixed weekly slot.
  • One-to-one. The whole lesson belongs to your child.
  • Matched teacher. At the trial we recommend a teacher, and confirm the schedule with you in writing.
  • Set up at home. We explain what you need: a stable connection, a quiet corner and, for some instruments, an instrument to practise on.

Online harp

The harp is rare, and hard to learn without a harp in the house. For online harp, we usually package lessons with a harp rental so that a student can practise between lessons. Please ask us on WhatsApp for the current terms before you decide anything. Do not buy a harp before you have spoken to us.

Where to start

Message us on WhatsApp with your child's age, the instrument you are curious about and where you live, and we will book your trial lesson.

  • Black and white photograph of a harp ensemble in white dresses, playing behind rows of candles.
  • A wide view of the stage: a line of harps, one harpist lit at the centre, and candles along the stage edge.
  • A young girl in a pale blue dress plays a concert harp beside candles.

Which instruments can be taught online?

All of them: harp, violin, cello, piano, voice, drums and guitar.

Can I learn harp online?

Yes. Online harp lessons are usually packaged with a harp rental, so a student has an instrument at home. Ask us on WhatsApp for the current terms.

Is an online lesson shorter or different from a studio lesson?

It is live and one-to-one, with a teacher matched to your child, just like a studio lesson. We confirm the format when you book.

Do we still need a trial lesson?

Yes. The trial works the same way and is how we match a teacher and confirm what you need at home.
