Where to learn with Kara

Kara Music Academy teaches at three studios, in Surabaya West, Surabaya East and Jakarta, and online for students anywhere in Indonesia. Every lesson is private, and every booking runs through the same Kara admin team.

Find the Kara that fits your week

Distance often decides whether lessons last. A lesson that is hard to reach is easy to skip in a busy week, and a lesson close to home becomes a habit. Choose the studio that is easiest to reach every week, or learn online.

What a visit looks like

You arrive, meet your child's matched teacher, and your child has a trial lesson in one of the teaching rooms. Parents are welcome to watch. Afterwards we talk honestly about whether the instrument suits your child and what we would recommend.

  • Black and white photograph of a harp ensemble in white dresses, playing behind rows of candles.
  • A harpist in a white dress plays in a single beam of light, her movement softly blurred.
  • A wide view of the stage: a line of harps, one harpist lit at the centre, and candles along the stage edge.

Are all instruments taught at every studio?

Not necessarily. Which instruments and slots are available at each studio is confirmed when you book, so you do not arrive with the wrong expectations.

Where exactly is the Surabaya East studio?

In the Dharmahusada area of East Surabaya. We send the exact address and directions on WhatsApp when you schedule your trial lesson.

Can I visit before booking?

The trial lesson is the visit. Bring your child, meet a teacher and see the room. Parents are welcome to watch.
