A good foundation for any music
On the piano every note is laid out in front of you. That is why the piano is often where a child first understands notes, rhythm and how two hands play together. What a student learns here carries over to other instruments later.
Piano is part of Kara's classical programme. The focus is correct technique, fluent note reading and ear training. The programme also opens the way to exams and recitals for students who want them. In 30 minutes a teacher usually combines scale practice, one or two pieces in progress and corrections to hand position and posture. Students go home with a clear practice task.
What to have at home
You do not need to buy anything before the trial. After that, a rough guide:
- Acoustic piano. The ideal for touch and sound. It needs space and regular tuning.
- Digital piano. Practical for city homes. Choose one with weighted keys so the fingers train as on a real piano.
- Keyboard. Fine for the first few months. If your child sticks with it, the teacher will advise when to move up.
Learning at our main campus
The Dian Istana campus in Surabaya West is Kara's main campus. For families in the west of the city it means a shorter trip and a lesson that fits the weekly routine. Each student has a fixed day and time agreed at enrolment, and all scheduling and payment goes through Kara admin.
Why a three-month minimum
Piano shows results after steady practice. The minimum helps serious families and keeps the teacher's slot available for your child.
